PTI believes in freedom of expression but…: State interests protection top priority for all, says Fawad

Top Story May 9, 2021 ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Chaudhry Fawad Hussain Saturday said in categorical terms that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government, led by Prime Minister Imran Khan, had full faith in the fundamental, democratic and constitutional right to freedom of expression, but insisted that protection of the state interests was top priority for all. He was talking to office-bearers of the Karachi, Lahore and National Press Club Islamabad during a virtual meeting here. Others who attended the meeting were Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Farrukh Habib, President National Press Club Islamabad Shakeel Anjum, Secretary Anwar Raza, presidents of Lahore and Karachi Press Clubs Arshad Ansari and Fazil Jamili, Principal Information Officer Sohail Ali Khan, Karachi. Relevant directors general of Lahore PID regional offices also attended the event.
