Firefighters were called to the Arconic Mill Products plant in Manheim Township, PA on Saturday after an explosion occurred in the facility that left a worker with injuries, local news organizations reported.
The blast was reported at about 1:45 p.m. Manheim Township Fire and Rescue official Troy Slaymaker toldNBC News affiliate WGAL that the explosion happened in a kiln inside the facility. Arconic’s facility did not sustain any apparent structural damage.
People living and working near the Arconic plant said in a report by a local Fox News affiliate that they could feel the explosion.

Update (5:04 p.m.) Fire officials say a worker was taken to the hospital following the explosion at Arconic Mill Products Saturday afternoon
There were no other injuries reported, fire officials said.
An Arconic spokesperson said in an email that the incident is now under control.
The cost of damages and the cause of the explosion are being investigated by the manufacturer.
As the investigation continues, people are sharing what they heard, saw, and felt as the explosion happened.
Explosion reported at Lancaster County business

An explosion took place shortly before 2 p.m. Saturday at Arconic Mill Products along Manheim Pike in Lancaster County, according to emergency dispatches.
A Lancaster County emergency dispatcher said as of about 2:20 p.m. there seemed to be no ongoing fire and responders believe one person is injured. Crews were investigating the severity of the explosion and damage.
According to emergency scanner descriptions, some employees were outside as of shortly before 2 p.m.
Multiple fire trucks and ambulances responded and assembled near an area referred to as building one. No further information was immediately available.
The extent of the person s injuries were unknown.Â

First responders evacuated the building and were checking to make sure there were no fires inside, the supervisor said.Â
Arconic Mill Products manufactures a range of highly-differentiated aluminum sheet, plate and extruded products for aerospace, automotive, commercial transportation, brazing and industrial markets, according to its website.Â
Firefighters are still on scene and Hazmat has not yet been called â though it s not out of the question, according to the LCWC supervisor.Â
The explosion happened in one of the kilns, WGAL reported.Â
