New Delhi: The complete COVID-19 lockdown in Delhi which is in effect till Monday (April 26, 2021) morning is likely to be extended further due to the deteriorating situation. The idea behind the brief lockdown was that it will control the cases and give time to boost the health infrastructure, but the situation has gone from bad to worse. In such a situation, extending the lockdown, by maybe another week, is a possible option, a source in the Delhi government told PTI news agency.

New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday (April 25, 2021) extended the complete lockdown in the national capital by one more week due to the deteriorating COVID-19 situation.
The COVID-19-induced lockdown in Delhi which was supposed to be in effect till April 26 morning will now remain in place till May 3. We had imposed a 6-day lockdown in Delhi. The lockdown is being extended to next Monday till 5 AM, the Delhi CM said in a press brief. The Central and State teams are working together, the AAP supremo stated.

New Delhi: The Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) on Friday (April 23, 2021) asked the Arvind Kejriwal-led government to extend the COVID-19-induced lockdown in the national capital. They also decided to shut markets for one more week.
The announcement regarding the closure of markets was made by CAIT s Secretary General Praveen Khandelwal on Saturday (April 24). The Traders Body took the voluntary decision to keep markets closed from April 26 till May 2. As and when the situation is improved, the lockdown can be lifted, the confederation said in a statement.

Centre on Tuesday informed that 2,105 more beds have been added to the Central govt Hospitals for COVID patients in Delhi.
Out of the 2,105 beds, 1,875 are oxygen beds and 230 are ICU beds.
New Delhi: The Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Tuesday (April 20, 2021) informed that 2,105 more beds have been added to the Central Government Hospitals for COVID-19 patients in Delhi.
Out of the 2,105 beds, 1,875 are oxygen beds and 230 are ICU beds that have added to the hospitals including Safdarjung Hospital, Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital, Lady Hardinge Medical College, AIIMS Delhi, AIIMS Jhajjhar, ESIC Okhla, ESIC Jhilmil, and All India Institute of Ayurveda in Sarita Vihar.
