PUTRAJAYA: A Covid-19 outbreak involving a religious centre has been detected in Kulim, Kedah.
The outbreak has 34 confirmed cases so far, and is one of the seven new Covid-19 clusters, identified by the Health Ministry on Tuesday (Jan 26).
Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said the cluster, dubbed “Keladi Saga”, was linked to infections in Kampung Keladi and Taman Saga in Kulim.
“Since Jan 21,49 people linked to the cluster have been screened with 34 of them tested positive, ” he said in a statement.
The index case involved a 64-year-old man who developed symptoms such as cough, fever, flu and muscle pain since Jan 14.
PUTRAJAYA: National Unity Minister Datuk Halimah Mohamed Sadique has tested positive for Covid-19.
A statement from the ministry said that Halimah underwent a screen test on Jan 18 and the Health Ministry on Tuesday (Jan 19) confirmed that she is positive. Datuk Halimah will now undergo treatment and quarantine as instructed. Her condition will be monitored by health authorities in Johor Baru. While undergoing quarantine, the minister will continue to monitor the National Unity Ministry s affairs to ensure all activities go smoothly. Datuk Halimah expresses her heartfelt thanks to those who offer their well wishes and prayers and would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused due to this development, said the ministry on Tuesday.
