Lord Aamer establishes foundation for youth & children

Islamabad:British-Pakistani philanthropist and social worker, Lord Aamer Sarfraz has established a foundation for socio-economic development of youth and children from remote areas of the country.
The ‘Lord Sarfraz Foundation’ has been established to develop and support innovative projects for remote areas including issues of youth, healthcare, clean water infrastructure, wildlife conservation, agriculture workers health, emergency response and human rights education, Sarfraz told APP here on Monday.
Sarfraz said that the foundation has already been conducting social programs in Pakistan for several years in different areas of Punjab and other parts of the country. He said that his organization has also conducted over 110 free health camps in South Punjab and rural Sindh, targeted to the needs of Agri-workers women and children.
UK Govt Praises Pakistan For 10 Billion Tree Afforestation Project
The British Parliament has commended Pakistan for its efforts to tackle climate change and promote green growth by implementing the 10 Billion Tree Tsunami Afforestation Project.
While addressing Britain’s House of Lords session yesterday, the UK Environment Minister Lord Goldsmith discussed the importance of the Billion Tree project and said,
Pakistan’s 10 Billion Tree Tsunami project is one of the most ambitious tree planting initiatives in the world and is a successful precedent for others to follow.
He commended Pakistan for initiating the program and “the tens of thousands of jobs that have been created due to the project. It goes to show what is possible and what can be achieved”.

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan said on Wednesday the overseas Pakistanis happen to be an asset for the country, as the government was considering making the process of investment easy for them, besides giving protection to their investments as well as involving them in voting process.
He was talking to Lord Aamer Sarfraz, Member of the UK House of Lords, who called on him here. Special Assistant to the PM for Overseas Pakistanis Zulfikar Bukhari was also present on the occasion.
Khan congratulated Lord Sarfraz for his inclusion in the list of youngest Lords. During the meeting, they also discussed further strengthening bilateral relations between Pakistan and the UK.
