Islamabad: Director General of Pakistan National Council of the Arts Dr. Fouzia Saeed on Saturday said that the sudden demise of famous ventriloquist Farooq Qaisar (uncle Sargam) has saddened us all and the entire nation is in deep sorrow and grief.
He was a man of vision who wrote and spoke to highlight evil characters and pointed out the weaknesses in our social life, said a press release issued here.
His unmatchable, remarkable, undeniable and universal characters have played a vital role in educating people.
The unforgettable Farooq Qaisar will remain alive through his writings and acting. He has international recognition for his contribution to the art world. He joined PNCA’s national puppet theatre on the special request of Dr Fozia Saeed and remained associated with PNCA’s puppet team providing guidance in promoting puppetry art despite of his deteriorating health and corona pandemic.

Islamabad: Pakistanis are mourning the loss of acclaimed artist Farooq Qaiser, better known as Uncle Sargam - a puppet character he created- who pioneered the concept of education through entertainment in Pakistan.
Pakistan’s beloved puppeteer breathed his last on Friday at the age of 75 in Islamabad on Friday after a cardiac arrest, his family confirmed. He is survived by three children, one son and two daughters as well as grandchildren, according to local media.
Qaiser was one of the most remarkable Pakistani puppeteer, cartoonist, author, scriptwriter, voice-over artist and TV personality. He is the creator of Muppet-like puppets including the legendary Uncle Sargam and other characters Maasi Museebatay, Rolla and Sharmeeli that became household names in Pakistan.
Lord Aamer establishes foundation for youth & children

Islamabad:British-Pakistani philanthropist and social worker, Lord Aamer Sarfraz has established a foundation for socio-economic development of youth and children from remote areas of the country.
The ‘Lord Sarfraz Foundation’ has been established to develop and support innovative projects for remote areas including issues of youth, healthcare, clean water infrastructure, wildlife conservation, agriculture workers health, emergency response and human rights education, Sarfraz told APP here on Monday.
Sarfraz said that the foundation has already been conducting social programs in Pakistan for several years in different areas of Punjab and other parts of the country. He said that his organization has also conducted over 110 free health camps in South Punjab and rural Sindh, targeted to the needs of Agri-workers women and children.
