NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - In the days leading up to Mardi Gras, Seth Hodges says the company he works for would typically send 20 drivers to deliver alcohol just to the French Quarter. On Friday, two were there.
âItâs not nearly as busy as it was last year, of course,â Hodges said.
He still makes his stops despite bar closures in place until Ash Wednesday. âThey want to get orders today, so they donât have to get orders next week.â
A woman wounded in a fatal shooting inside the Augusta Mall last October has filed suit against the mall s corporate owners and manager and the firm that provides security.
Aubrey Adams-Knowlden filed the Richmond County Superior court lawsuit Thursday seeking unspecified damages for alleged negligence in security.
According to the lawsuit, Adams-Knowlden was working in the Status Jewelry kiosk inside the Augusta Mall on Oct. 3 when an argument between two men led to gunfire. She was shot in the right knee by a stray bullet and as she lay on the floor wounded, she saw a fatally wounded Derrell Little, 26, fall near her.
