A woman wounded in a fatal shooting inside the Augusta Mall last October has filed suit against the mall's corporate owners and manager and the firm that provides security.
Aubrey Adams-Knowlden filed the Richmond County Superior court lawsuit Thursday seeking unspecified damages for alleged negligence in security.
According to the lawsuit, Adams-Knowlden was working in the Status Jewelry kiosk inside the Augusta Mall on Oct. 3 when an argument between two men led to gunfire. She was shot in the right knee by a stray bullet and as she lay on the floor wounded, she saw a fatally wounded Derrell Little, 26, fall near her.
