Kota Kinabalu: A 52-year-old man was fined RM1,300 or two months jail on Tuesday for engaging in an online gambling.
Self-employed Ag Saidi Serin @ Sirin pleaded guilty before Magistrate Lovely Natasha Charles to committing the offence at 4.35pm on Jan 20 this year at a garage in Kg Meruntum, Phase 2, Jalan Putatan Lok Kawi in Penampang.
Inspector Albert Basiri who prosecuted told the court that a police team during Ops Dadu arrested a man, later identified as Saidi for gambling and seized the paraphernalia used in the activity including handphones and RM677 cash.

Investigations revealed that there was “Mega888” gambling application in the seized handphones from Saidi.
IPOH: Police here have arrested 11 suspects in two separate gambling cases under Ops Dadu raids conducted on two houses at Jalan Menglembu Bestari 11 on Saturday (June 5).

Kota Kinabalu: An unemployed man was sentenced to two months’ jail on Monday for trespassing into the compound of the State Mosque last month.
Md Rahmat Md Musneh, 26, pleaded guilty before Magistrate Lovely Natasha Charles to committing the offence at Jalan Tunku Abdul Rahman here at 1.30am on April 7.
The prosecution informed the court that Rahmat was seen climbing the fence of the mosque from outside and walked towards the toilet.

A security guard who saw Rahmat trespassing into the area, apprehended him and handed him to police.
Rahmat was charged under Section 447 of the Penal Code carries a jail term of up to six months or fine of up to RM3,000 or both on conviction.

Kota Kinabalu: Seven people were fined a total of RM10,500 by the Magistrate’s Court here Thursday for engaging in online gambling.
Azameh Maseh, Ceilia Parun, Josue Tanis, Lee Yen Peng, Zamry Abdullah, Edle Adiak and Iqbal Basri, aged between 26 and 62, pleaded guilty before Magistrate Stephanie Sherron Abbie to committing the offence using handphone at 8.30pm on March 19 in a house at Low-cost housing, Jalan Kalansanan in Inanam.
They were each ordered to pay a fine of RM1,500 or two months jail.

The court heard from the prosecution that the seven were arrested by police, who acted on Ops Dadu information for committing the offence.
