Kota Kinabalu: An unemployed man was sentenced to two months’ jail on Monday for trespassing into the compound of the State Mosque last month.
Md Rahmat Md Musneh, 26, pleaded guilty before Magistrate Lovely Natasha Charles to committing the offence at Jalan Tunku Abdul Rahman here at 1.30am on April 7.
The prosecution informed the court that Rahmat was seen climbing the fence of the mosque from outside and walked towards the toilet.

A security guard who saw Rahmat trespassing into the area, apprehended him and handed him to police.
Rahmat was charged under Section 447 of the Penal Code carries a jail term of up to six months or fine of up to RM3,000 or both on conviction.

Kota Kinabalu: A man who was jailed 20 years and ordered given 15 lashes of the cane for raping his underaged niece, was freed by the High Court.
Judicial Commissioner Datuk Duncan Sikodol, who delivered his reserved decision via video conferencing, allowed the man’s appeal against his conviction and sentence.
Duncan quashed the conviction and sentence and discharged and acquitted the man.

The man was on Aug 27, 2019 sentenced to 20 years’ jail and ordered given 15 strokes of the cane by the Kudat Sessions Court after a full trial for raping the 13-year-old girl at 3pm in early September 2017 in a house in Kudat.
