AUBURN The lawyer for an Auburn man filed a motion to dismiss a murder charge against his client in a fatal shooting Halloween night 2020, claiming “critical information” had been intentionally left out of an arrest affidavit that cast doubt on his client’s role in the slaying.

Lewiston defense attorney Verne Paradie is asking a judge in Androscoggin County Superior Court to reverse her earlier decision that there was probable cause to believe that Abdikatur Nur, 21, of 303 Aspen Court, Auburn, committed intentional or knowing murder, based on that affidavit written by a Maine State Police detective.

AUBURN A Mechanic Falls man stole the identify of a fellow electrical worker in 2016, then used that man’s identity for more than a year, including in court, where he was convicted of drunken driving.
Michael Rocko, 48, posed as Terrence Rivers of North Carolina when he was pulled over in Auburn at 2 a.m. on Nov. 5, 2016. He said he was Rivers when he took a blood/alcohol test that showed his content was 0.12%, above the legal limit of 0.08%.

LEWISTON Federal authorities arrested a local man Tuesday and charged him with possession with intent to distribute marijuana and manufacturing butane hash oil, following a federal raid on more than 20 properties in the Twin Cities area.
Richard “Stitch” Daniels, 52, was charged in U.S. District Court in a complaint that alleges a drug trafficking organization grew and distributed large quantities of marijuana under the cover of Maine’s medical marijuana program, but sold marijuana to buyers who were not participants in the program and included out-of-state customers.
The raids stemmed from an investigation into a trafficking organization in Lewiston-Auburn, the U.S. Attorney’s Office said.
