Advertisement In one case, a woman who died last October was still being chased to reply to the survey at the start of April - while another woman has received three letters addressed to her husband who died last September.
Despite dozens of people complaining via Twitter and to MailOnline, the Office for National Statistics has insisted there is no IT issue and told recipients to ignore the chasing letter.
Completion of the nationwide survey, which is thought to cost close to £1billion, helps inform the development of Britain s infrastructure, including housing, transport and education, is mandatory.
