SAN DIEGO
Homicide investigators on Tuesday identified the 25-year-old man who was gunned down last week outside a Linda Vista apartment complex.
Josue Amador of San Diego was shot around 9:25 p.m. on June 29 in a patio area of an apartment off the alley between Eastman and Fulton streets, according to San Diego police.
Amador, who was shot in the upper body, died at the scene about 10 minutes later, police homicide Lt. Andra Brown said.
According to investigators, the victim and three companions were approached by two or three men “who issued a gang challenge,” Brown said in a news release. At least one of those people then pulled out a handgun and opened fire, striking Amador at least once.
