A 40-year-old San Diego man found dead with suspicious injuries last week near a canyon trail in City Heights was the victim of a homicide, police said Tuesday.
Alfred Reyes’ body was discovered around 9:30 a.m. last Wednesday in the Ridgeview/Webster neighborhood of City Heights, according to San Diego police homicide Lt. Andra Brown. He was found in a shallow canyon police called the Chollas Creek Open Space Park, which is also sometimes known as Chollas Creek Canyon.
A caller reported finding Reyes’ body in tall grass just off the trail that runs through the open nature space between Euclid Avenue and Fairmount Avenue, a little northeast of the Interstate 15 and state Route 94 junction, police said.
