The Cole County Health Department will now show positive case totals by day, which reflects the date the specimen was collected instead of the date the results were received by the Health Department.

There have been 7,787 cases in Cole County, an increase of 6 cases over 24 hours. There have been 270 cases in long-term care facilities.
Six new positive cases were reported Tuesday. In the updated graph below, you can see the number of cases added by specimen collection date for the month of March thus far.

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
Mid-Missouri pharmacies and health departments on Tuesday were canceling appointments and clinics where they planned to give out Johnson & Johnson coronavirus shots.
State officials said last week that the state expected to receive 10,600 doses of the Johnson and Johnson vaccine this week. From the beginning, my administration has supported the rigorous testing, trial, and stringent evaluation of all COVID-19 vaccines, Gov. Mike Parson said in a statement. We have paused state-allocated Johnson & Johnson vaccinations out of the same abundance of caution and await further guidance from the FDA.

Audrain County Health pauses use of Johnson & Johnson vaccine Published by admin on Tue, 04/13/2021 - 8:41am
Officials with the Audrain County Health Department (ACHD) announced Tuesday the department is following the advice of the federal Food and Drug Administration (FDA) by pausing the use of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine until further notice. The FDA recommended pausing the use of the vaccine after six women developed blood clots within two weeks of taking the vaccine.
“It’s a precautionary move on both the FDA and on our part,” ACHD Administrator/CEO Craig Brace said. “We don’t want to possibly put any of our residents at risk if there is found to be a problem with the Johnson & Johnson vaccine.”
