AUDRAIN COUNTY - Audrain County Health Department (ACHD) representatives announced Friday the department will return to in-person Women, Infant and Childrenâs (WIC) appointments on Tuesday, May 4 according to a press release.
âWe are looking forward to returning to the in-person visits,â WIC Coordinator and Registered Nurse Becky Wieberg said. âWeâve missed seeing our program participants in person the past year.â
The ACHD suspended in-person visits to the health department in March of 2020 because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Clients were contacted remotely the day before their appointment and then were allowed to come to a walk-up window to have their benefit cards reloaded.

The Columbia/Boone County Department of Public Health & Human Services reported 5 new COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of active cases to 106.
According to the Missouri vaccine dashboard, an estimated 43.4% of Boone County s 180,463 residents have received at least one vaccine dose.Â

5,684 doses have been administered in the past 7 days
The county also reported 6 hospitalizations, 1 of which are Boone County residents. Â There are currently 4 COVID-19 patients in the ICU and 1 on a ventilator.

MEXICO - The Audrain County Health Department announced several new vaccination clinics Tuesday.Â
Audrain County residents will have opportunities Monday through Friday, including some evening availability, to receive the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine, starting Thursday, April 22, according to a release from the health department.
Some of the clinics are in partnership with the Missouri National Guardâs Adaptable Vaccination Teams (AVT). The AVT teams will do clinics outside of the health department s regular hours and in remote locations in the county.
The schedule will be:
Wednesdays - Remote clinics by AVT 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. at the following locations:
