New Delhi, Feb 14 : Allopathic doctors across the country have been on a relay hunger strike since the past two weeks to protest the central government notification regarding surgical training for postgraduate students of Ayurveda and have resorted to legal and political recourse for its rollback.
The protest came in response to the rules, introduced in November 2020, which enable provision of training for Ayurveda practitioners to perform surgical procedures. The notification specifies 58 procedures surgeries, including orthopaedics, ophthalmology, ENT, removal of benign tumours and cataract operations etc.

New Delhi, Feb 2 : Delhi High Court Chief Justice D.N. Patel on Tuesday urged the public interest activists to also bring forth the petitions on tax evasion, while shedding a light on the violation of the performance of the duty by the public. There are many public interest activists who file PILs. Every time they walk on the road, they point out that the government has done this or that. They do not see the issue of tax evasion while walking on the road, the Chief Justice said, while hearing a plea on garbage issue in Delhi.

New Delhi, Feb 1 : While people around the country sat glued to their TV sets to follow the annual budget, 51-year-year-old Delhi resident Manisha Shrivastava was morose, following the announcement of the extension of vehicle scrapping policy to 20 years, as she had recently disposed of her car after using it for 15 years as per existing norms.
In 2019, the government had proposed amendments to motor vehicle norms to allow scrapping of vehicles older than 15 years in a bid to spur adoption of electrical vehicles. The new scrapping policy now requires private vehicles to undergo fitness tests after 20 years for disposal.

New Delhi, Jan 22 : Vaccine maker Bharat Biotech has started the supply of the second consignment containing over 25 lakh doses of Covaxin vaccine to 22 cities across the country, including Delhi and Mumbai on Friday morning as India picks up the pace to vaccinate millions of people.
Hyderabad-based Bharat Biotech s Covaxin, along with Serum Institute of India s Covishield vaccine are part of the government s mass vaccination programme against Covid-19, which commenced on January 16.
