At the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, it became clear quickly that the world was competing to acquire personal protective equipment (PPE) from the same international sources.
Medical grade PPE is the essential equipment frontline workers rely on in the fight against the virus, and includes items like masks, face shields, gowns and gloves. Our government recognized that we couldn’t rely on an unstable international supply. As Premier Doug Ford said, never again should Ontario have to rely on other countries for essential PPE.
