BRAUN: Save Ralph campaign — ban animal cosmetics testing

Incredibly, Canada still permits this ghastly practice. Some 3.9 million animals were used in experimental testing in 2018 in Canada. Despite being banned in 40 countries, animal testing of cosmetics is still legal in four out of five countries around the world — all in the name of human beauty. HSI and a pack of celebrities teamed up to create #SaveRalph, a short film about a brave rabbit whose job in cosmetics testing leaves him blind and chemically burned. Save Ralph shows a hard-working rabbit getting a Draize test — an abhorrent test from the 1940s still used today. Ralph, spokesbunny for HSI’s global campaign to ban cosmetic testing on animals. Chile: HSI welcomes tough new Chilean bill to outlaw cosmetic testing on animals

HSI welcomes tough new Chilean bill to outlaw cosmetic testing on animals Humane Society International Chile is in the running to become the second South American country to prohibit animal testing for cosmetics following introduction of a federal bill in late December which, if passed, would prohibit new animal testing of both finished cosmetics and their ingredients, and severely restrict the import or sale of beauty products developed with reliance on new animal testing carried out anywhere in the world. Bill 13.966-11 was introduced by Deputy Vlado Mirosevic in close cooperation with HSI and our Chilean partner Te Protejo, with bipartisan support of government and opposition parliamentarians, as well as from several leaders in the beauty sector and cruelty-free domestic brands.
