Killer couple locked up for knife attack on ‘much-loved and cherished’ brother, son and father
A MAN who smiled down on his victim as he plunged a knife into his chest has been jailed alongside his girlfriend – who goaded him into killing her ex-partner. Joseph Hindle, 47, who was found guilty of murdering Accrington man Mark Fisher, 33, following a trial in December, was this afternoon jailed for life with a minimum of 27 years by the Honorary Recorder of Preston, Judge Robert Altham. He had previously admitted robbery. Louise Henwood, his partner at the time of the attack who had formerly been in a relationship with Mr Fisher, pleaded guilty to manslaughter before the trial and was jailed for a total of 18 years, of which 13 will be served in custody with five years on licence.
Labour and Tory leaders Cllrs Miles Parkinson and Marlene Haworth at the Hyndburn count THE Conservatives made major gains in Hyndburn in Thursday’s elections to build on their general election triumph in December 2019. They won five wards and lost one with former party boss Peter Britcliffe taking over the seat of his daughter Sara in St Andrew’s ward Oswaldtwistle which she has vacated as she is now the MP. They took a second seat in the ward with a victory for Steven Smithson. They also gained councillors in neighbouring St Oswald’s ward, Altham, Rishton, and Church. But they lost the Barnfield ward in Accrington left vacant by the death of their former group leader Tony Dobson to Labour.

Repligen: Q1 Earnings Snapshot

WALTHAM, Mass. (AP) Repligen Corp. (RGEN) on Tuesday reported first-quarter profit of $29.5 million.
The Waltham, Massachusetts-based company said it had net income of 52 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, were 68 cents per share.
The results topped Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of six analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 43 cents per share.
The drug developer posted revenue of $142.8 million in the period, also exceeding Street forecasts. Seven analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $116.2 million.
Repligen expects full-year earnings in the range of $2.21 to $2.28 per share, with revenue in the range of $565 million to $590 million.
