Part of Waltham street shut down for outdoor dining

Updated: 8:29 PM EDT May 1, 2021 For the second year in a row, the city of Waltham is shutting down part of Moody Street to vehicle traffic to make room for outdoor dining.Crews blocked off the section of upper Moody Street between High and Derby streets on Friday ahead of the start of outdoor dining on Saturday. It s important to our businesses and it s important to make the customers feel safe, said Sally Collura, of The Tea Leaf. That section of road will be open to pedestrians, but bicycles are not allowed to travel through there. I think it s a great way to promote more local traffic, said Belmont resident Kallen Adams. I mean, it s what made us come here. So it s clearly working. The outdoor dining program on Moody Street will run through October.
