A BRIERLEY Hill property will be converted into a home for multiple residents despite police fears it could add to crime problems in the area. Planning officers at Dudley Council have given the go-ahead for the vacant three-bedroom property in Albion Street into a seven-bed HMO. In the application, submitted by agents Neightstudio, said the loft will be converted to help create the seven en-suite bedrooms within the house, which is located between a pharmacy and church. But the plan was strongly opposed by West Midlands Police and a couple of neighbours who are concerned about the impact the development could have on the area.

A road in Nottingham city centre has been closed after a sink hole opened up.
Nottingham City Council has coned off Albion Street, which connects Canal Street, Collin Street and Greyfriar Gate, as of 10am on Wednesday, June 2.
