One of the first survivors of coronavirus in Grimsby is now enjoying life once more now he is fully vaccinated.
Philip Massen, 88, nearly died when he contracted the infection – but he has now completed his Covid journey after having his second dose of the life-saving vaccine.
The former RAF ambulance driver praised his superhero NHS staff for saving his life and urged everyone to get vaccinated against the wicked virus.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markleâs âgarden weddingâ was just a âprivate conversationâ with the Archbishop of Canterbury, a vicar from Spalding who investigated the matter, has claimed.
Former Spalding schoolboy Rev Mark Edwards MBE decided to look into Meghanâs claims after receiving many requests for private weddings during Covid lockdowns, which he has had to decline.
Rev Edwards, who grew up in care at Ivo Cottage, in Albion Street, Spalding and attended the Gleed Boysâ School, is now the vicar at St Matthewâs Church, in Dinnington, and St Cuthbertâs Church, in Brunswick, Newcastle upon Tyne.

Salboy is to deliver the £300m scheme’s 40-storey residential tower in Manchester alone, but the future of the 240,000 sq ft office element, which Ask Real Estate was overseeing, is uncertain.
The vehicle behind the 375-apartment Viadux – Ask Capital – has changed its name to Salboy Capital, and Ask directors John Hughes and Jonathan Cross have resigned, according to documents filed with Companies House.
The three remaining directors are Salboy’s co-founder Fred Done, and managing director Simon Ismail, alongside Lee McCarren, managing director of Domis Property Group, Salboy’s construction arm.
The 50:50 joint venture was formed in January 2020 to deliver the SimpsonHaugh-designed scheme on the site of the former Bauer Millet unit off Albion Street, close to Manchester Central Convention Complex.
