The SR 167 Completion Project is part of the estimated $2 billion Puget Sound Gateway Program that includes the SR 509 Completion Project near Seattle. Both projects complete two crucial unfinished links in Washington State s highway and freight network.

Penticton fire chief Larry Watkinson says firefighters from both Penticton fire halls responded to the blaze at a home on Alexander Avenue at around 9:20 p.m. yesterday, April 21. “The fire crews arrived to find black smoke coming off the back of the building. They were able to knock it down in an exterior attack prior to entering the building to search for any other occupants,” Watkinson says. Two people living in the older house were able to escape. It was extensively damage by fire and smoke. No one was injured.
