Winnipeg police investigate 3 weekend stabbings

Multiple weekend stabbings keep police busy

  WINNIPEG Winnipeg police responded to three separate stabbing incidents this weekend, sending three people to hospital. Early Saturday morning officers responded to a report of a robbery and stabbing in the St. John’s area. Police said a 35-year-old man was knocked off his bike and robbed in the 500 block of Aberdeen Avenue at 2:45 a.m. He was stabbed during the incident but was able to make it home and call police. He was taken to hospital in unstable condition, but later upgraded to stable. The second incident on Saturday happened on a Winnipeg Transit bus. At 8:51 p.m. WPS officers responded to a report of a stabbing in the area of Main Street and Logan Avenue. They found a 16-year-old male suffering from a stab wound.

Belmont Police log, Jan to Jan 10: Juvenile on moped struck

Wicked Local The following are excerpts from the Belmont Police log as made available by the Belmont Police Department. The log is public and available for review. All persons are presumed innocent until found guilty in a court of law. Jan. 4 10:11 a.m.: Collision in area of Belmont Street and Trapelo Road between a 2015 Nissan operated by a Belmont woman and a 2014 Ford operated by a Belmont woman. The operator of the Ford said she did not see the red light. Airbags deployed in both vehicles which were towed. The operator of the Ford received a citation for failure to stop at a red light.
