New Indigenous program coming to The X

By Hannah Theodore Jan 19, 2021 2:34 PM ‘Our Stories’, a new Indigenous focused show, will soon be debuting on Fanshawe’s student radio station. The show will be hosted by Fanshawe Radio Broadcasting alum, Ira Timothy, as well as Grand Chief, Joel Abram of the Oneida Nation of the Thames Settlement. The half hour show will begin airing on Jan. 24, at 8:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Timothy said he agreed to host the show after being contacted by Broadcasting-Radio and Media Production Program Coordinator, Abe Kelledjian. “I have a longstanding relationship with a lot of past professors,” said Timothy. “And he had the idea of…an Indigenous radio show because we want to have more diversity on the X.”

London police seek help in locating 19-year old woman

After reaching out to the public for assistance on Jan. 18, police say they have been informed that Kechego was last seen on Jan. 15. Kechego is described as female, Indigenous, approximately 5’03”, and 123 lbs. She has a slim build with long brown hair and brown eyes. She also has a large tattoo across her upper chest that reads “Lannie’s girl.” Kechego has been missing for three weeks now, and her family is concerned for wellbeing. Local Indigenous support agency, Atlohsa Family Healing Services has been vocal on social media about locating Kechego.

Western s affiliates cancel all in person classes this semester

Western’s affiliates cancel all in person classes this semester By Jordan Laroche Jan 20, 2021 1:17 PM Western’s affiliates, Brescia University and King’s University College, announced that they have cancelled all in person classes for this semester. Although Western will start in person classes after their reading week next month, the affiliates made this decision due to the COVID case count in Ontario.   “We made the decision after seeking the advice of the Government and the Middlesex London Health Unit, and we decided that we would not have any person to person contact this semester.” Explained Principal of King’s University College Principal Dr. Dave Malloy.
