Super Blood Moon Eclipse Happens Early Tomorrow Morning
So what happens when you get a supermoon and a total lunar eclipse? Why, a Super Blood Moon Eclipse, that s what! There hasn t been a total lunar eclipse in a couple of years. A lunar eclipse is when the Earth s shadow completely covers the moon. This is not a solar eclipse, so you can look directly at it without eye protection. The first total lunar eclipse in two years is happening at the same time as the moon is closest to Earth, in what astronomers say will be a once-in-a-decade show.
If the skies are clear, anyone living between Australia and the central United States will be able to see an enormous, bright, orangey-red moon.

The partial phase of the eclipse will begin at 3.15 p.m. and end at 6.23 p.m. A total lunar eclipse will occur on May 26 but it will be visible in the country for a short span from northeastern India, some parts of West Bengal, coastal parts of Odisha and Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
What’s A Supermoon And When Will It Be Visible?
It’s caused when the full moon is closer to the Earth than normal, which causes it to appear larger and brighter in the sky than normal. It will happen on Wednesday night after the moon rises in the eastern/southeastern sky at approximately 8:10 p.m.
The moon will also appear almost as large and bright on the evenings of Tuesday, May 25 (when it will be 99 percent full and rise at 6:55 p.m.) and Thursday, May 27 (when will rise at 9:22 p.m.)
Why Is It Called A “Super Flower Blood Moon” Anyway?
