Two ranking Democratic members of Congress are demanding that the organizers of the Arizona election audit hand over records, citing concern that the audit is an effort to promote baseless conspiracy theories.
New York Representative Carolyn Maloney, who chairs the House Committee on Oversight and Reform, and Maryland Congressman Jamie Raskin, who chairs the Subcommittee on Civil Rights and Civil Liberties, issued a letter today requesting that the private company behind the so-called election audit in Arizona produce certain documents by July 28.
The letter is directed to Doug Logan, the CEO of the Florida-based company Cyber Ninjas. Logan and his firm were selected by Arizona Senate President Karen Fann to run the audit of ballots cast in Maricopa County in the 2020 election despite his documented enthusiasm for spreading conspiracy theories about the 2020 election.
