A civilian employee for the Arapahoe County Sheriff s Office is in custody after allegedly sexually assaulting a juvenile female while on duty.
Caleb May, 19, is currently being held in the Arapahoe County Detention Facility on sexual assault charges and has a bond of $65,000, according to online court records.
May is employed by the sheriff s office as a community service specialist and is responsible for taking reports for low priority calls and to help with traffic enforcement. Community service specialists have no power of enforcement, said Ginger Delgado, a public information officer for the department.
Deputies said the victim reported the alleged assault on Wednesday. The alleged crime happened on Monday.
A man is in custody and facing arson charges after allegedly pouring camping fuel in several aisles and starting four separate fires at a Walmart on Thursday, the Englewood Police Department said.
Officers responded to the store at 601 Englewood Parkway after reports of a man starting a fire in several aisles about 10:30 a.m.
Police said there were 135 customers and 40 employees in the store at the time of the incident.
The fires burned out shortly after igniting, but caused damage to floor tiles, shelves and merchandise.
The suspect, 43-year-old Darius Harper, fled the store after allegedly starting the fires and was apprehended after resisting on a bike path near South Santa Fe Drive and West Dartmouth Avenue, several blocks away, police said.
