UAE: Woman racks up traffic fines of Dh247,000 with 414 offences

Police say she committed 4 traffic violations per week for three years straight.
The long and efficient arm of the law has caught up with a motorist, who had racked up fines worth over Dh247,000.
The Ajman Police said the woman had committed 414 offences, most of which were speeding. Her car has now been seized.
She committed an average of four violations per week over three years.
The police said the Arab woman, 30, will have to pay the amount in full, failing which it will be sold off in an auction.

As thick fog descended upon UAE on Sunday morning, the national Met department (NCM) issued a weather alert for residents.
Earlier, Abu Dhabi Police took to social media to inform motorists about speed limits being reduced on key Abu Dhabi, Dubai roads for their safety. Authorities in UAE urge motorists to follow traffic rules and abide by revised speed limits while driving in foggy weather.
The speed limits have been reverted to the normal limits.
