The UAE s Ministry of Economy has announced the list of violations and fines for money laundering and terrorism financing. The minisry has issued a list of 26 penalties.

Grace period extended
The grace period for companies to register in two systems to combat money laundering has been extended till March 31. Companies that fail to register will be subject to penalties, including suspension of licences and closure.
The firms must complete the post-registration procedures to avoid financial penalties. Fines range from Dh50,000 to Dh1 million and can be doubled to up to Dh5 million.

The municipality has issued a number of fines and warned many violators for smoking shisha and littering the green areas.
Barbecuing or smoking shisha in Ajman s public parks, green areas and beaches would invite a fine of Dh1,000, authorities have warned.
The Ajman municipality has launched an inspection campaign targeting the practices of barbecuing and smoking shisha in parks, green areas and beaches, said Khalid Al Hosani, director of Health and environment department at the municipality.
The emirate had banned these practices to maintain the health and safety of the residents and visitors. The parks, green areas and beaches are the most vital places visited by residents and it’s our duty to ensure they have an ideal and healthy environment to enjoy it,” he added.

The UAE’s Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) authorities have shut down 250 offices across the country for recruiting domestic workers amid a stringent bid to streamline the hiring of this category of blue-collar employees in the country.
Nasser bin Thani Al Hamli, the Minister of MoHRE, on Tuesday told members of the Federal National Council (FNC) that the ministry closed these recruitment offices in different emirates after their licences had expired. “The move is part of the plan to replace these recruiting offices for domestic workers with ‘Tadbeer’ centres,” said Al Hamli.
Fine alert: UAE police issue fresh warning to pedestrians, drivers

The police called on motorists to drive with caution and follow the traffic rules.
The Abu Dhabi Police have warned residents against the dangers of jaywalking and reminded them to abide by traffic laws.
In a fresh warning under the traffic safety campaign Safety Path , the police urged pedestrians to cross roads only through designated areas and to follow the traffic lights at intersections.
““Random crossing of roads is among the main causes of run-over accidents. Pedestrians should use the designated crossing points properly, be vigilant and obey any signals at controlled crossings,” said police.
