Bicycle rider injured when struck by car Friday near Proebstel

A cyclist was transported to a local hospital after being struck by a car in east Clark County on Friday afternoon.
According to the Washington State Patrol, Alexander Mackmer of Washougal, 31, was driving eastbound on state Highway 500 in the Proebstel area when he attempted a left turn onto east 53rd Street.
Bernard Doering, 60, was cycling westbound on the highway and was hit by the car just before 5 p.m. Doering, who was wearing a helmet, was transported to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center.
An investigation is ongoing, according to the Washington State Patrol.

A Vancouver man was injured Sunday night when he crashed his motorcycle on the 112th Avenue offramp from Interstate 205.
Shortly before 9:30 p.m., the black 1991 Yamaha XV1100 motorcycle was traveling north on I-205, took the offramp for Exit 28 and failed to negotiate the curve. The motorcycle went down on its side and slid off the road to the left, according to a Washington State Patrol crash memo.
The rider, identified as Davey L. Ruth, 63, was taken to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center. His condition was unavailable Monday morning.

A single-vehicle rollover crash Sunday night in Brush Prairie seriously injured a passenger, according to the Clark County Sheriff’s Office.
A 911 caller reported the crash at 7:05 p.m. in the 13600 block of Northeast 144th Avenue.
“Two occupants and three dogs were inside the vehicle, which had come to rest on its top off the roadway. The 911 caller reported that one occupant was partially ejected from the vehicle, a 2010 Honda Civic sedan,” the sheriff’s office said in a news release.
