TOKYO Bridgestone Corp. plans to invest nearly $94 million over four years to make its Shimonoseki, Japan, off-the-road tire plant greener in terms of renewable energy use and cleaner handling of waste water.
The investment, which will start in 2022 and run through year-end 2025, reflects goals set forth in Bridgestone s longer-term strategic growth strategy, which are part of the firm s
New equipment earmarked for the plant will enhance the company s production system in terms of safety, disaster preparedness, eco-friendliness, quality and productivity, Bridgestone said, without quantifying the potential effects on the factory s production capacity. The 51-year-old, 2.8 million-sq.-ft. factory is rated at 250 metric tons of output a day.

The debentures are jointly and severally guaranteed by three power generation companies: Amata B. Grimm Power 3 Ltd. (ABP3), Amata B. Grimm Power (Rayong) 1 Ltd. (ABPR1), and Amata B. Unconditional and irrevocable guarantees
The ratings on ABPSPV?s guaranteed bonds are equal to the ratings on its guarantors, ABP3, ABPR1, and ABPR2. Under the terms of the guarantee, the guarantors will jointly and severally provide unconditional and irrevocable guarantees on all amounts due under the debentures, including the principal amount of up to THB11.5 billion, and interest accrued thereon, and related expenses.
TRIS Rating affirms the company rating on Amata B. Grimm Power 3 Ltd. (ABP3) at ?A-? with a ?stable? rating outlook. The rating reflects the predictable cash flows ABP3 receives through a long-term power purchase agreement (PPA) with the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT) under the Small Power Producer (SPP) scheme. The rating also reflects the use of proven technology in its cogeneration power plant. In addition, its major shareholder, B. Grimm Power PLC (BGRIM) has a strong track record in operation of gas-fired power plants.

Predictable cash flow from long-term PPAs with EGAT
ABP3 has a 25-year PPA with EGAT, covering 90 megawatts (MW), under the SPP scheme. The board of directors of B.Grimm Power Plc (BGRIM) has appointed Harald Link as its new president, part of a reshuffle of top management as its executive committee is tasked with driving expansion of the company s power and natural gas businesses overseas.
Mr Link, who has served as chairman of B.Grimm Group and BGRIM, succeeds Preeyanart Soontornwata, who the board has appointed as vice-chairwoman and director of the executive committee of BGRIM.
By assuming the new roles, Ms Preeyanart has vacated her position as BGRIM president. The move will enable her to devote her efforts to focusing on the expansion of BGRIM s international businesses, which call for finalising power sale agreements of over 3,000 megawatts next year and the launch of a liquefied natural gas (LNG) venture.
