MHS graduate returns from Brazil trip Montevideo American-News On July 21st, Montevideo High School Class of 2017 graduate Abby Olson returned from a once-in-a-lifetime trip to Brazil where she took part in a tournament with the USA D03 Women’s Basketball Team. Olson was invited to participate based on her outstanding performance on the court as well as off the court as a Bethany Lutheran College student. The team was made up of NCAA Division Three basketball players from across the United States who have been recognized at the national, regional, and conference levels, coming from eight different states and thirteen different colleges and universities.

JHS grad Olson receives Golden Apple honor FacebookTwitterEmail Abby OlsonProvided Abby Olson, a member of the Jacksonville High School Class of 2021, has been selected as a 2021 Golden Apple Scholarship winner. The scholarship program is designed to reward high school graduates choosing to pursue a degree in education. While at Jacksonville High School, Olson was a four-year member of the cheerleading team, serving as co-captain her senior year. She also teaches and coaches at Llaina’s Dance & Gym. She is attending Illinois College in the fall, majoring in elementary education with a middle school math endorsement. About 350 of nearly 2,000 applicants were given Golden Apple awards.

KVRR Local News Davies High School hosts ‘1 Million Meters for Mara Olson’ She was diagnosed with Leukemia in October and so as a cross country team we decided to come up with a way that we could raise funds for her and her family. February 15, 2021 FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) Students and staff at a local high school are showing their support for a student battling cancer. Fargo Davies High School students held a 12 hour marathon event to show their support for Junior student Mara Olson. “Today’s fundraising event is called One Million Meters for Mara. Mara Olson, she was diagnosed with Leukemia in October and so as a cross country team we decided to come up with a way that we could raise funds for her and her family,” Davies HS Head Cross Country Coach Jason Edwards said.
