ANSONIA An Ansonia man is facing charges, including criminal attempt at first-degree assault and first-degree reckless endangerment, following a Sixth Street shooting Sunday, according to police.
Melvin Burroughs has been charged with two counts of both criminal attempt at first-degree assault and first-degree reckless endangerment, according to a post from the Ansonia Police Department. He also was charged with first-degree threatening, unlawful discharge, criminal use of a firearm, criminal possession of a firearm and third-degree criminal mischief, according to the post.
Police say 33-year-old Burroughs “had been in a verbal dispute with two other males when Burroughs fired multiple shots at the males,” according to the post.
