One of those 32 is Heather Bubrig, of New Orleans, who was killed Oct. 31, 2017, after a reserve deputy with the Doña Ana County Sheriff’s Department shot her.
According to authorities, several law enforcement officers arrived on La Pradera Road after multiple emergency calls. One of the callers said a woman fitting Bubrig s description was in the shed behind their home, authorities said. As officers approached the shed, Bubrig reportedly came out of the structure armed with a sledge ax, authorities said.
