Starter Drew Hutchison had a pretty good night, but the Hens bullpen did not. In the end, they weren’t able to generate enough offense for it to matter.
Things got off to a promising start in the first. Facing former Tigers center fielder Anthony Gose, who opened for the Clippers, Renato Nuñez mashed a solo shot to get the Hens on the board. Hutchison then allowed just one run through five frames. In the sixth, things finally went south. Hutchison allowed just one earned in the inning, but Ian Krol, who relieved him, went on to allow four runs in the inning as the Clippers pulled away.

CLEVELAND, Ohio Minor league games won’t get started until next week, but Cleveland Indians prospects and high-minors players have stayed sharp at the club’s alternate training site in Columbus under the watchful eye of Clippers manager Andy Tracy.
With a smattering of games against other alternate site squads under their belts, Cleveland’s crew has continued to put in work since arriving from the club’s spring training site in Goodyear, Ariz. They’ve been able to play games against teams from alternate sites in Indianapolis, Toledo, Louisville and others in front of about 1,000 fans at Huntington Park.
