Vaccination demand stalls for Athol, Orange clinics

ATHOL Health Agent Deb Vondal told members of Athol’s Board of Health at their most recent meeting that the town has reached a point where it’s having trouble filling available slots at its vaccination clinics.
Vondal began her update by informing the board that, to date, Athol has seen 712 cases of COVID-19. Of that number 695 have cleared, leaving as of Tuesday 17 active cases.
“As of last Thursday,” she said, “we have been designated as ‘yellow,’ which is moderate risk of transmission. So, that was the second week in a row. That follows two weeks of having high risk of transmission; we had some little mini-outbreaks going on.
