Vaccination demand stalls for Athol, Orange clinics

ATHOL — Health Agent Deb Vondal told members of Athol’s Board of Health at their most recent meeting that the town has reached a point where it’s having trouble filling available slots at its vaccination clinics.
Vondal began her update by informing the board that, to date, Athol has seen 712 cases of COVID-19. Of that number 695 have cleared, leaving — as of Tuesday — 17 active cases.
“As of last Thursday,” she said, “we have been designated as ‘yellow,’ which is moderate risk of transmission. So, that was the second week in a row. That follows two weeks of having high risk of transmission; we had some little mini-outbreaks going on.
