The first dose vaccination at a mall in Manila was cancelled on Thursday, Aug. 5, after an “unusually high” number of individuals flocked to the site in the hope of getting their COVID jab.

Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso said that the Certificate of Analysis (COA) for the vaccines has been received by the city government.
The vaccination in the city was halted for about five days due to the lack of COA “as part of the quality assurance and safety prior to its use.”
The city government will use its purchased Sinovac vaccines which arrived on June 24.
“We will reach as many people as possible. We will protect as many people as possible, as soon as possible. We need protection, you need protection,” Domagoso said.
The Manila city government has released 8,000 COVID-19 2nd dose vaccines which will be used for the 1st dose vaccination of the A2 and A4 priority groups in the city on Friday (June 11).
