Greater Noida: In a boost to the growth of Greater Noida, the Union government has released the first tranche of payment for developing three ambitious infrastructure projects in the region an industrial township near Ajaibpur, a multimodal logistics hub in Dadri and a transport hub in Boraki.
Officials said that Rs 353 crore have been transferred to the Greater Noida Authority’s bank account by the department for promotion of industry and internal trade under the Union ministry of commerce for the execution of the three projects in the region. While the Union government will fund the projects, the UP government will infuse 50% equity in the shape of land.

GREATER NOIDA: A 21-year-old sanitation worker died after inhaling toxic fumes while cleaning a sewer without any safety gear in Begumpur village of Surajpur on Thursday, police said.
Around 10.45am, a group of labourers led by Greater Noida Authority contractor Neeraj Bhati reached the spot and started checking the sewer line in Begumpur village, which had been blocked. Krishna Kumar, the victim, was asked to enter a manhole to clean the sewer line.
However, he fainted as soon as he entered the sewer. His fellow labourers informed police and a team arrived at the spot and rushed him to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.

Mumbai, May 25 : Omidyar Network India on Tuesday pledged to donate Rs 13 crore each to online donation platform Give Foundation and collaborative non-profit platform United Way Bengaluru.
The funds will be used by the Give Foundation to help strengthen the capacity of institutions, health care staff, volunteers, and caregivers to enable a more effective response that maximises available infrastructure; focus on rural areas that have been severely underserved; and encourage retail donors to contribute to the Covid-19 relief effort by matching their funding.
