Maldives Covid-19 cases surpass 77,000-mark with 141 new cases

Sample collected for testing Maldives coronavirus total has surpassed 77,000 with the 141 new cases reported on Wednesday. According to the latest daily figures updated by Health Protection Agency (HPA), the cases were confirmed from the 5,152 samples tested within 24 hours; 98 of the reported cases are from outlying atolls, 22 from the Greater Male Area, 20 from operational resorts while a single case was reported from industrial islands. Atolls continue to report the highest number of cases in the Maldives, since June. While this pushes the country s Covid-19 case count to 77,094, there are currently 2,527 active coronavirus cases with 14 patients hospitalized for treatment. And with the 225 recoveries reported on Wednesday, Maldives’ total recovery number now sits at 74,335.
