New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy signed a bill Thursday allocating $15 million in federal COVID-19 relief to arts and culture venues throughout the state. The bill is part of a $100 million relief effort that aims to help small businesses recover from the pandemic. Murphy, who signed the bill at the West End Arts Center in Long Branch, Monmouth County, said the aid will help secure the state’s post-pandemic future.

(March 10, 2021) Updated Mar 10, 2021; The West Windsor Arts Council has prescribed “Rx: Laughter,” an online comedy show and silent auction fundraiser, 7 to 8:30 p.m. Saturday, March 13. The show will feature comedians Tushar Singh, Amy Shanker, Corey Ryan Forrester and Gilbert Lawand. Items up for bid in a silent auction include specialty-themed baskets “featuring desirable goods and services you can use” and fine art, which can be previewed here. Tickets are $30 for the comedy show, $50 for a couple. An optional “Laughter Bistro Box” of vegetarian-friendly cuisine sourced from local farms and businesses can be ordered for $50.

The center will follow state Department of Health guidelines for sports activities mandating temperature checks for all participants, coaches and officials, masking for everyone except during actual competition, and safe distancing practices.
