ACPD: Suspect in Custody for April Shooting Now Charged Again

Cops in Atlantic City say a man who is already in custody for a shooting that happened in April has now been charged with attempted murder in connection to a shooting in March. 25-year-old Tyquan McClarin-Lamar, according to authorities, has now been charged with attempted murder, two counts of aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and certain person not to possess a weapon. Police say just after midnight on March 22nd, officers with the Atlantic City Police Department responded to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center-City Division after a 27-year-old man walked into the emergency room with a gunshot wound. Cops say that man, who sustained non-life threatening injuries, was shot in the area of New York and Magellan Avenues. An investigation conducted by detectives identified McClarin-Lamar as the shooter, leading to his criminal charges.

The Atlantic City Police Department says at about 1:40 Monday morning, their officers responded to the 700 block of Ohio Avenue for a ShotSpotter alert. Cops at the scene were told that two suspects, a man and woman, were at the back of a house. According to a press release, Officers Juanita Harris and William Luengas-Gonzalez detained Samantha Johnson as she walked down an alleyway between two houses. Johnson was found to have a loaded handgun in her purse. Officers Robert Reynolds and Justice Martin arrested Sean Lowney in the rear of the residence.

According to the Atlantic City Police Department, detectives with their Special Investigation Section executed a residential search warrant at a home in the 800 block of Pennsylvania Avenue on Wednesday. Thomas has been charged with possession of CDS, possession with intent to distribute CDS, and possession of narcotic paraphernalia. He was remanded to the Atlantic County Justice Facility.

Legal guardian assaulted, starved 9-year-old Galloway girl, cops

GALLOWAY The legal guardian of a 9-year-old girl was charged with assaulting the girl with a metal spatula and starving her to the point where she was extremely emaciated, according to Atlantic County Prosecutor Damon Tyner. Stephanie Gregory, 56, of Galloway was charged on Wednesday with not feeding the girl properly and using the spatula to open up wounds and welts on her body, according to Tyner. The girl could barely walk when Child Protection and Permanency removed the girl from the home, the prosecutor said. The Atlantic County SWAT team was involved with Gregory s arrest but Tyner did not disclose the circumstances.
