Mom Charged For Brutally Beating, Killing Son With House Furniture

A 24-year-old woman from Canton, Ohio, is facing murder charges after her 17-month-old son died from allegedly being beaten with household furniture Monday.
Officers were responding to an indecent exposure report in the 1900 block of Maple Avenue Northeast shortly before 5 p.m. when they encountered a nude woman walking on the sidewalk, WDTN reported, citing Canton Police Department chief Jack Angelo.
The woman was identified as Mary Guarendi-Walker, WJW reported.

Tyner say Gregory failed to properly feed the girl and beat the child repeatedly with a metal spatula leading to open wounds and welts on the child’s body. Gregory is the girl s legal guardian.
Tyner says she s been charged with 2 counts of second degree Aggravated Assault and 6 counts of second degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child whom she was the legal guardian of, as well as the child’s 2 siblings. She also faces a third degree charge of possession of heroin.
The young girl has been removed from the home by the DCP&P. Tyner says she was extremely emaciated and could barely walk. She was taken to the hospital and was admitted for one week.
GALLOWAY The legal guardian of a 9-year-old girl was charged with assaulting the girl with a metal spatula and starving her to the point where she was extremely emaciated, according to Atlantic County Prosecutor Damon Tyner.
Stephanie Gregory, 56, of Galloway was charged on Wednesday with not feeding the girl properly and using the spatula to open up wounds and welts on her body, according to Tyner. The girl could barely walk when Child Protection and Permanency removed the girl from the home, the prosecutor said.
The Atlantic County SWAT team was involved with Gregory s arrest but Tyner did not disclose the circumstances.
