DOUGLAS COUNTY, Ore. – Several thousands of dollars in stolen property has been recovered in connection with a large-scale theft case involving several well-known businesses, the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said.
Deputies served a search warrant in the 200 block of Alameda on Wednesday after receiving reports of thefts from businesses and residents in southern Douglas County.
In-person learning going strong in South Umpqua district
In the South Umpqua School District, all schools have been open for in-person learning since the beginning of the year.

MYRTLE CREEK, Ore. Most schools in Douglas County are open for in-person learning at this point, and one superintendent says it has been going well.
In the South Umpqua School District, all schools have been open for in-person learning since the beginning of the year.
However, the superintendent said they have been very strict about social distancing, mask wearing and sanitizing. She said the students and staff have been cooperative since the beginning.
Glendale School District cancels school due to poor road conditions
Teachers and students will be following distance learning schedules.

GLENDALE, Ore. Winter weather has prompted Glendale School District to cancel school Wednesday due to poor road conditions in and around Glendale.
Teachers and students will be following distance learning schedules.
In the South Umpqua School District, snow routes will be used only for students who live on North Myrtle Road, South Myrtle Road and Boomer Hill.
All other bus routes are operating on a normal basis.
