The Fall Breeze Pop-Up Shop, the latest in a series of family-friendly events organized by Janice Hicks, took place Saturday, Nov. 4, at Mattocks Park. Community members came throughout the day to check out the many vendors and food trucks and the live music, including a performance by the Boomer Hill Band. Other attractions included kids activities, a job fair inside the gymnasium at the park and the Arkansas Minority Health bus.

A number of local residents gathered in the Rock Island neighborhood on Saturday for the March of Hope. The march, organized by non-profit organization Parents United Against Youth Violence along with local resident Nathan Rainey, Sr., focused on raising awareness of violence and its effects on families and the community.
Parents United: Code Red, a local nonprofit, and El Dorado resident Nathan Rainey Sr. are teaming up to host a pair community events to honor families who have lost loved ones to violence.
