The Mountain Fever studio and its family of labels keeps steaming on.
The Floyd County companyâs Americana/folk label, Travianna Records, signed Summer & Bray and has released the duoâs cover of Mr. Misterâs âKyrie.â Siblings Summer (vocals) and Brayden McMahon (banjo, vocals) were part of the Sylva, North Carolina band Mountain Faith, which was a Mountain Fever Records band and a semifinalist on âAmericaâs Got Talent.â
But the act rebranded and joined Mountain Feverâs sister label.
The âKyrieâ cover is their follow-up to an original number, âHeartbeat,â which was a Bluegrass Today chart hit, according to a Mountain Fever news release.

Country Store Jamboree returns to Floyd
FLOYD, Va. – Downtown Floyd felt normal for the first time in a long time Friday night with the return of the Friday Night Jamboree. The iconic bluegrass dance party stopped for more than a year due to the pandemic.
There wasn’t a free square inch of the dance floor at the Floyd Country Store Friday night. Ben Harman and his friends have been coming for years and they couldn’t wait to be back at it.

Charlie Hunter is a rare specimen in the guitar world. His main instrument is a bass/guitar hybrid, with which he sounds like two players, sometimes like three.
His style incorporates jazz, soul, blues, funk, Latin and other grooves, along with their requisite melodies and harmonies. He nails them all. Such expertise has put him in a position to play with a wide variety of musicians coming from a broad array of styles.
His Southwest Virginia fans have been able to hear him cross that expanse over the past decade or so in shows at Jefferson Center, the old Kirk Avenue Music Hall, 5 Points Music Sanctuary and the town of Floydâs Small Town Summer event. When he returns to Floyd on Thursday, as part of a trio opening for Americana singer/songwriter Amythyst Kiah, heâll be doing something he hasnât done previously in this neck of the woods â sacred steel guitar music.
