LES called to help restore power for Omaha storm victims

KLKN-TV Last Friday s thunderstorms left thousands without power in Omaha over the weekend July 12, 2021 10:42 pm Lincoln, Neb. (KLKN) – LES and other power companies were called to help restore power in Omaha households that was lost after Friday night’s thunderstorm. About 190 thousand people were without power Saturday morning following the storms. Currently, there’s still around 30 thousand people without power. Local crews are working hard to help remaining households without power. “It’s extremely important for us here at LES,” said LES Construction Coordinator Fredrick Rumery. “I think it’s just ingrained in who we are, we’re Nebraska nice so when we can lend that helping hand that’s what we want to do.”

Nebraska Game and Parks announces results of 2020 Upland Slam

Syracuse Journal-Democrat The third year of the Nebraska Upland Slam gave more than 300 hunters a reason to take advantage of the state’s excellent mixed-bag hunting opportunities. Otoe County residents completing the Slam are Fredrick Rumery of Unadilla, Andy Seelhoff of Syracuse, and Michael West of Unadilla. The Nebraska Upland Slam, a partnership between the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission and Pheasants Forever & Quail Forever of Nebraska, challenged hunters to harvest all four of Nebraska’s primary upland game bird species – ring-necked pheasant, northern bobwhite quail, sharp-tailed grouse, and greater prairie-chicken – during a single hunting season. This season, 144 hunters completed the Slam, up from 122 in its last year; 123 of the finishers were from Nebraska, compared to 107 in 2019-2020. The remaining Slams were completed by hunters from 12 states. The finishers included seven female and four youth hunters.
