GREENVILLE, S.C., June 3, 2021 /PRNewswire/ Drew Spahn s Crosswing concept took the top spot in the Movin On Challenge Design s 2021 global competition. The New Jersey design student created the concept to address the theme, RESPECT: Ending Isolation and Conquering the Mobility Divide.

The Audi TT is still around, but not for long. The Mk3 generation came out roughly one year after the Golf 7 and A3 hatchbacks, which means it should be discontinued pretty soon. It won t be long before people will start feeling nostalgic, but not for the modern versions. 10 photos
The Mk3 TT certainly has some design mojo. For such a little sports car, it has a lot of character, from the R8-like design to the clamshell hood and the cockpit-like dashboard with no infotainment screen. But many Audi fans believe the first-gen was better, more original in some way.
Interior Design: Even More Out Of Left Field
The Audi TT design team pulled its influences from all over, including music, architecture, and fashion. However, the interior drew more from the sport of baseball than anywhere else. The interior design team consisted of Romulus Rost, Martin Smith, Hartmut Warkuss and Peter Schreyer. Rost liked the idea of the way a ball is contained and held firmly in place by a baseball glove and used it as a concept for the TT s seats. He wanted people inside the Audi TT to become one with the car, and that s why the seats are shaped like baseball gloves. On top of the comfortable seats, the interior was driver-focused and ingeniously laid out. It also shunned the automakers of the 1990s habit of overloading cabins with switches and showy technology in favor of minimalism.

I’m a sucker for typography. So much so, I even had a font made of my own hand-writing. I love examining fonts to the point that I will blurt out esoteric comments to anyone with me, such as “Look at the cool serifs used on that sign!” or “Check out that ‘K’ I love the arm on it!” It’s charming if you’re into graphic design, but ‘totally weird’ (as my wife says) if fonts are not your cup of tea.
